  1. Hi Craig
I`ve just done a google search for Clock wheel cutting engine and found your site. Excellent work here and so recent! Are you in the UK by any chance? I`ve just started my first clock build - Colin Thorne's Skeleton Timepiece and I`m just about to get underway. I`ve just made a single point 0.8 module cutter and a wheel holding arbor and in the next few days I should be cutting my first wheel.
Can I ask, with your wheel cutting engine, how do you actually feed the cutter into the wheel? Looks an excellent contraption...
You have inspired me to start my own blog:

Get in touch, I`m in need of help from time to time as this is my first ever build: mnbylcr2@REMOVEyahoo.co.uk.REMOVE

  2. Hi Craynerd, nice to hear from you. I hope your clock goes well, and I will follow your blog.
The slider in the cutting engine is adjustable fore/aft for depthing. I will put up a few more pics.
When the belt driven motor gets going and spins the cutter it causes vibration, this is enough for it to loosen and fall slowly to gravity under it's own weight, if left it actually slices through the brass and cuts the tooth!
